How to use ChatGPT and why everybody should do it

ChatGPT is a revolutionary AI-driven chatbot that can do a variety of tasks, from writing articles and coding programs to helping with mental health and generating recipes.

At the moment, we are in the midst of a revolution – one that is largely driven by artificial intelligence (AI). AI has already been able to replace a number of professions. Today I focus on one of the most important drivers of this revolution – ChatGPT by Open AI.

ChatGPT is a chatbot that is incredibly sophisticated. It is able not only to answer questions and hold conversations but also to do things that used to be done only by a human, such as writing poems, brainstorming ideas, coding programs and even helping people with their mental health. ChatGPT has already set a record for the fastest growth in users ever, with one million users in just five days after its launch. So let’s dive deep into ChatGPT and explore its capabilities further.

Behind ChatGPT OpenAI uses the GPT-3.5 language model. It is a sequel to the currently available GPT-3, which you can use via API. It is expected that OpenAI will release GPT-4 soon.

For a user, ChatGPT looks like a chat. One can ask questions, receive answers, and make requests to create something. You can try ChatGPT for free (for the moment of writing) here. What is truly groundbreaking is its answers. Unlike many previously existing AI methods, ChatGPT can really help you with your daily routines even today. Here is how.

ChatGPT can create text content for you

It can:

  1. Write an article for SEO about the topic you need.

  2. Generate emails, blog posts, tweets, and other types of content.

  3. Generate a letter of recommendation, cover letter or even contract.

  4. Create a poem or a fairy tale for a child.

ChatGPT can understand and write code

It can:

  1. Write a function in your programming language.

  2. Explain the error message and even find an error in your code.

  3. Explain the code, and write comments on it.

  4. Rewrite your function to the correct style.

ChatGPT can help you with your imagination.

It can:

  1. Brainstorm startup ideas. It is able to help you with an idea or with naming.

  2. Suggest new markets to go to and what features to add to your project.

  3. Generate a recipe for a dish made from ingredients that are in your refrigerator.

ChatGPT can act like… Almost anything.

Here are hundreds of examples of ChatGPT acting like somebody or something. For example, it can:

  1. Act like a personal fitness coach and give you personal advice on your workout program.

  2. Act like a Linux terminal executing your commands.

  3. Act like a relationship coach and provide you with specific advice on your relationship.

These are only a few examples of how you can use ChatGPT for either your daily routines or your job. I am going to describe some of them in detail in my next posts, so feel free to subscribe. Now let’s talk about what changes this technology can lead to and what is already happening.

There are a lot of apps using ChatGPT and GPT-3 and we should expect to appear of tonnes of new ones

  • Jasper AI allows you to write texts / blog posts / emails / ads much faster

  • Mem AI is a personal workspace for note-taking and to-do lists. OpenAI invested $23.5M in this company

  • Ideas by AI helps to brainstorm ideas with the help of GPT-3.

  • Eightify can summarise YouTube videos into a short text description.

  • NovelAI uses AI to write poems, novels and romances

Writing code will be easier and faster

  • GitHub Copilot helps developers to do the code auto-completion using GPT-3. It can not only complete the current line of code but write the whole functions.

  • Stenography can automatically write documentation for your code.

  • AI2SQL Creates SQL requests from text prompts.

Educational assessment will change

  • Students will use generated content in their homework and essays.

  • More solutions that detect generated content will be made.

The way we search for information will change

  • Google worries about ChatGPT replacing their search.

  • Google’s search results will be full of generated content.

  • Chatbots can be easily integrated into messengers and used instead of search.

Limitations of ChatGPT

Despite ChatGPT being able to do a lot of things, it still has a number of limitations. Though they might be fixed in upcoming versions.

  • It doesn't know anything that happened in 2022 (lucky it).

  • It is not connected to the internet.

  • It is not updated according to everything happening in the world.

What you should do about this new gold rush

  • Create your project based on GPT-3 and ChatGPT.

  • Use it in your daily job to automate your daily routines.
